Need a good laugh at a great price? Join Anoka-Ramsey Community College for one of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years:
Urinetown: The Musical
Feb. 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16
Coon Rapids Campus
Performing Arts Center
Based on the book by Greg Kotis, who had the idea for Urinetown: The Musical while in Europe after encountering a pay-for-use toilet, this satirical musical tells a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
The Anoka-Ramsey production of Urinetown will be directed by Speech faculty member, Scott Ford.
Tickets are $8 in advance at the college bookstore, online at webs.AnokaRamsey.edu/theatre (Buy Tickets Now), or at the door an hour prior to the performance.
Student-actors rehearse for the Anoka-Ramsey Community College production of Urinetown: The Musical at the Coon Rapids Campus Performing Arts Center, Feb. 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16, 7:30 p.m. In this scene, the poor and the rich square off in a confrontation over a pay toilet price hike.
