April 17, 2014

Need a unique gift for Mother's Day, graduation or a summer wedding?

The public is invited to the Anoka Ramsey Community College Wood-Fire Kiln Fundraiser, May 6, 6:30 to 9 pm, Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids Campus Visual Arts Building, Rm VA221.

As part of the Wood-Fire Kiln Fundraiser, attendees can make a $20 or $50 donation to be guaranteed a pot created by Art Faculty member Mark Lambert or one of the college ceramic students. Selection of the pot will be determined on the night of the event by the order that the ticket stubs are drawn. The $50 tickets will be drawn first. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

Tickets for the Wood-Fire Kiln Fundraiser are available at the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids Bookstore.

Proceeds from the Wood-Fire Kiln Fundraiser will support the construction of a new wood-fire kiln for Anoka-Ramsey ceramics students.

In addition, there will be a live auction of pottery from the Perpetual Clay Invitational.  Works from this show were created and donated by renowned ceramics artists such as Jeff Oestreich, Linda Christenson, Dick Cooter, Bob Briscoe, Sunshine Cobb, Andy Shaw and others. Each year’s $1,000 Perpetual Clay Scholarship recipient designs and creates a piece to be included at the next annual fundraiser; thus the name Perpetual Clay. The Perpetual Clay Invitational will remain on display in the Visual Arts Building until the auction on May 6.

For more information about this event, please contact Anoka-Ramsey Community College Art faculty member and event organizer, Mary Lambert at or 763-433-1307.
