Increasing the interest of students and the general public in the fascinating subject of science has been the goal of the Science Night event since it began. The topics Dr. Halvorsen presented-fitness, nutrition and obesity-however, resonated with many attendees, including ARCC biology students.
"I agree with Dr. Halvorsen," says ARCC anatomy and physiology student, Sarah Sullivan. "If we taught children about the importance of exercise and eating healthy the same way we teach the importance of not smoking and wearing seatbelts there would be less obese children. This could help turn around the problems with obesity and negative health."
