College Wants to Share Love of Singing: Invites Public to Join Community Choir

August 24, 2012

For the second year, Anoka-Ramsey Community College is offering a singing opportunity to all community members, alumni, staff, faculty and students, and it is free. No audition is necessary; previous choral experience helpful but not required.

Unlike other Anoka-Ramsey student ensembles, this choir is open to all community members, such as high-school students, parents and working professionals, musicians by career, musicians by hobby and anyone who has interest in singing in a cooperative setting.

Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coon Rapids Campus beginning Sept. 4. Rehearsals culminate in a masterworks concert with a professional orchestra in December and will include works by Johannes Brahms, JS Bach and Randol Bass.

Community Chorale is one of three choral ensembles on the Coon Rapids Campus and one of nine performing groups campus wide: jazz band, guitar ensemble, string orchestra, concert band, musical theatre ensemble and various chamber ensembles are also offered.

For ensemble details, please contact one of the Community Chorale co-directors: Randy Buikema at or Nicki.Toliver at or 763-433-1542.
