About the Director

Scott completed his teatre graduate training at New York University and the University of Minnesota.  He has been on the Anoka-Ramsey Community College faculty since 1987 and has directed about 35 plays and musicals for the college.  His recent Anoka-Ramsey Community College productions include Anatomy of Gray, Noises Off!, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Twelfth Night and Hormel Girls.  He has served on the board of directors and directed plays for Plymouth Community Theatre.  He also serves as a resident director for Lyric Arts Theatre in Anoka where his directing credits include Doubt, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Hairspray.

About the Director

Blayn's past productions at Anoka-Ramsey Community College include:  The Laramie Project, The Miser, The
Robber Bridegroom, H.M.S. Pinafore
and Major Barbara, House of Blue Leaves, Las Hermanas Padilla and
Tartuffe.  He received his master of fine arts in Classical Acting from The National Theatre Conservatory under the leadership of founding member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Tony Church.  Prior to joining Anoka-Ramseys faculty, Blayn worked for 20 years as an actor, direcotr and playwright.  Most recently he co-wrote and directed Cirque de Guerre at Illusion Theatre in 2008.  Other illusion Theatre work includes Mrs. Man of God in 2005.  He has worked as an actor in many Twin Cities and regional theatres including Frank Theatre, Jungle Theatre, Children's Theatre, Guthrie Theatre, History Theatre and Pillsbury House Theatre (where he is an artistic associate member of the company).  Regional works include The Denver Center Theatre Company and The SeattleRepertory Theatre.  He has also been involved in short film projects.  He appeared in the 2004 award-winning short film Stalemate as well as the short film Invention.  He has been a teaching artist for the Guthrie Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Illusion Theatre and Young Audiences of Minnesota as well as a faculty member of The Blake School.  He has also served on the Perpich Center for the Arts Best Practices Network.  In 2006, Blayn received a General Mills Champions grant in Nutritional Education to develop a curriculum for high school students combining acting practices and skills in the studying of nutrition and health.  In 2012, Blayn was selected as an ambassador scholar to Zhoaqing University and spent a month working with Chinese students on making their future classrooms more engaging places for student learning.  In 2013, Blayn was honored to be recognized as Honored Faculty for service to the college and the faculty association.

About the Technical Designer/Director

This is Peter's 8th season at Anoka-Ramsey Community College and he is pleased to be working with such outstanding faculty, staff, administration, and most of all with such dedicated and enthusiastic students.  Peter is an active member of the United States Intitute of Theatre Technology (U.S.I.T.T.) at the local and national levels and has also worked for 20/20 Theatrical installing stage equipment and rigging for SECOA.  Besides designing scenery and lighting for Anoka-Ramsey Community College productions, he teaches Stagecraft (THTR 2211) and has recently designed scenery for Lyric Arts, Yellow Tree Theatre, and the Season's Dinner Theatre.  Recent productions include Hormel Girls, Hairspray, URINETOWN, House of Blue Leaves, On Golden Pond, Anatomy of Gray, Steel Magnolias, Noises Off!, H.M.S. Pinafore, and Harvey.

About the Director

A native Minnesotan, Lisa worked for the Commonwealth Theatre in Lanesboro, MN for 10 years where she performed, directed plays and served as Education Director.  She has been a member of the Anoka-Ramsey Community College faculty since 2010 and has directed Dinner with Friends, Book of Days, Nice People Dancing to Good Country Music and The Last Night of Ballyhoo for the college.  Other favorite plays she has directed include Uncle Vanya, Lonely Planet and Black Comedy.  She received her BA in Drama from Tufts University in Massachusets and her MFA in Acting from the National Theatre Conservatory in Denver.  She is delighted to be working with the students, faculty and staff of Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

                                   

 

About the Makeup Artist

Andrea Moriarity is a wig maker and makeup artist.  She has done work for several local theaters including the
Guthrie, Minnesota Opera, History Theatre, Penumbra, Theatre in the Round, and The Jungle Theatre.  Regionally, she has worked at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Opera, and Eastman Opera, NY.  Additionally, she teaches in the theatre departments of the University of Minnesota, Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Minneapolis Community and Technical College.  Ms. Moriarity holds an M.F.A. in Theatre Design and Production, Wig and Makeup Specialty, from the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music.
