Pharmacy technicians help licensed pharmacists prepare prescription medications, provide customer service, and perform administrative duties within a pharmacy setting. Pharmacy technicians generally are responsible for receiving prescription requests, counting tablets, and labeling bottles. They may perform administrative functions such as answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating cash registers.
Some students may need preparatory courses in the areas of English, reading, mathematics. Courses numbered below 1000 will not apply toward the certificate.
To apply for admission to the Pharmacy Technician Program, submit the “Application for Pharmacy Technician Program” to the Office of Records and Registration between February 1 and February 28 for the following fall. Application materials are available online. All program requirements are offered at the Cambridge campus.
