The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men’s Basketball team lost their conference opener at Ridgewater College 86-67, Wednesday, Jan. 6 despite holding at 39-37 halftime lead and committing a season-low four turnovers in the game.
The Golden Rams, playing with only seven players, were at a significant size disadvantage the entire game, enabling Ridgewater to out-rebound Anoka-Ramsey 62-30. Anoka-Ramsey could not get anything going offensively as they shot only 25 percent in the second half (9-36) to Ridgewater’s 57 percent (20-35).
Trey Scott led the Golden Rams with 25 points on 9-17 shooting, including 6-11 from the three-point line. Charley Baker and Quincy Bethea Jr. each chipped in with 12 points.
Anoka-Ramsey drops to 6-8 on the season, 0-1 in the MCAC.
Up next for the Golden Rams is a trip to St. Cloud, MN to take on St. Cloud Technical College at the Whitney Recreation Center, Saturday, Jan. 9 at 5 p.m.
