Adult Basic Education (ABE) - Coon Rapids Campus


Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are offered on campus in partnership with Metro North ABE for adults who want to study for the GED, or who want to improve their math, reading, and writing skills to be ready for college level coursework. ABE classes are taught by licensed teachers and trained volunteers who will help learners meet their educational goals.

ABE classes are free and can be taken before you attend college or while you are enrolled in your college level classes.

 

ABE CLASS INFORMATION and REGISTRATION

To register for ABE classes, you must attend an orientation and intake session. They are held Tuesday evenings at 4:30 pm. You do not need to register for intake. Please plan on being at intake for 4 hours; you will take an assessment test (TABE) and meet with our intake specialist for class registration. ABE classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 - 8:30 p.m. in SC163 in the Academic Support Center (ASC). The ASC is located on the first floor of the College Services building, across from the bookstore. For more information, please contact Mary Ford at (763) 433-1940.

  • Brush up your reading , writing, and basic math skills before you take or retake the Accuplacer.
  • Prepare for the GED exam
  • Increase your English writing skills - grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure - to prepare for college writing classes.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS CLASSES

HOBET and TEAS V TEST PREP CLASSES

Are you preparing for the HOBET or TEAS V exams?  Did you take them once already and not like the score you got?  Take our five week brush up class and gain confidence and skill to take or retake the HOBET or TEAS V exam.  Check out North Metro ABE for more information..
