The Advising Office at the Coon Rapids campus is now hiring work study students as Advising Assistants for the Spring 2016 semester! The mission of the Anoka-Ramsey Advising Office at Anoka-Ramsey Community College is to empower students to actively seek out resources to successfully complete their educational goals. Academic Advising provides a safe and respectful environment to collaborate with students on course selection, understanding degree requirements, and preparing for degree completion or credit transfer to other academic institutions.
30 minute appointments with Academic Advisors are available in-person or over the phone (please specify which type of appointment you'd like when making the appointment). To set up an appointment with an Academic Advisor please call 763-433-1230 and press 1 for appointments or stop by the Information Desk at either campus. Please do not use email to try and make an appointment.

Quick Stop Advising
Convenient walk-in advising is available for quick questions (5 minutes or less) during specified hours. Students check-in at the Information Desk and are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. The length of wait time will vary. Students may be asked to schedule an appointment for more detailed planning with an Academic Advisor. Please check-in at least 15 minutes before scheduled end times.
Please note that Quick Stop advising times at both campuses are subject to change due to various advising events. Refer below for availability and closures if you are planning on coming to campus for the sole purpose of seeing an Academic Advisor for Quick Stop advising.
See an Advisor during Quick Stop Advising hours for brief questions regarding:
- Placement Test Results
- Concerns about a Current Course
- Degree Requirements and DARS
- Referral to College and Community Resources
- Review of Course Schedule (but not long-term planning)
- Adding/Dropping/Withdrawing from Courses

Mondays through Fridays
10:00am – 2:00pm
Tuesdays and Wednesdays
4:00pm – 5:30pm
Quick Stop Advising will be unavailable at both campuses during the following days/times:
Monday, January 18 - Holiday (College Closed)
Email questions will typically receive a response from an Academic Advisor within 1 to 2 business days.
Call an Academic Advisor for quick questions (5 minutes or less) 8:30am to 4:00pm Mondays through Thursdays and 10am to 4:00pm on Fridays. The length of wait time to speak to an Academic Advisor will vary. Students may be asked to schedule an appointment (in-person or over the phone) with an Academic Advisor for more detailed questions. Voicemails left will typically receive a response from an Academic Advisor within 1 to 2 business days.
