Eagle Eye View

Take it from the eagles soaring overhead: Anoka-Ramsey’s campuses have changed over the course of a decade
The last decade has been one of physical transformation and vital updates on the two riverside campuses of Anoka-Ramsey Community College, even as bald eagles soar overhead.
“Our overarching philosophy is to improve the image of the college by creating warm and inviting environments,” said Vice President for Finance and Administration Don Lewis. “The educational spaces are paramount, and we want to ensure Anoka-Ramsey offers students both a quality education and a quality experience.”
The changes have spanned from landscaping and banners, to a new softball field at the Cambridge Campus, Mississippi River shoreline restoration, remodels in various student collegial spaces, new buildings and building extensions with sustainable architectural features.
“The footprint of the Coon Rapids Campus has really changed,” said Director of Facilities Ken Karr. “We’ve not only added the Visual Arts Center and the Health and Wellness Center, but we also renovated the Music Building.”
Beautification projects have revitalized both the Cambridge and Coon Rapids Campuses. On top of painting and re-carpeting, skylights have been replaced and modern furniture has been installed in the study areas. The results have created attractive spaces that cater to education and student life.
