General/Transfer Students

New first-year (general) and transfer students starting in Spring 2025 at Anoka-Ramsey will be participating in Orientation & Registration Express. The Spring 2025 semester began on Monday, January 13.The deadline to add or drop courses without penalties is Friday, January 17. 

If you will be attending starting Summer 2025, please submit a request for access to online orientation: General/Transfer Student Online Orientation Request (Summer 2025). New students starting in Fall 2025 should check back in February for more information. 

About Orientation & Registration Express Spring 2025

These in-person sessions will be held at both the Rapids and Cambridge campuses. They are specifically for students who have not yet applied or have recently applied to the college and are preparing to start this Spring semester. During these sessions, students will receive: 

  • Information on college resources, policies, and procedures 
  • Assistance with course registration 
  • Guidance on preparing for the semester ahead 

Dates & Locations:

  • Rapids Campus: January 15 - 17: Mississippi Room (C270), map
  • Cambridge Campus: January 13 - 17: Information Desk, map

Check-In Hours: 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM 

What to Know Before Attending Orientation & Registration Express

Here’s a quick summary of the important details you need to know: 

  • Application: Be sure to apply to Anoka-Ramsey before attending Orientation & Registration Express. 
  • StarID: Make a note of your StarID and password, as you'll need them for Orientation & Registration Express. 
  • Orientation Duration: Orientation & Registration Express might take several hours to complete, so plan your time accordingly. 
  • Information Needed: Bring copies of your high school/GED transcripts, college transcripts (if applicable), and a photo ID.
  • Course Availability: Since Spring 2025 classes started on Monday, January 13, course availability is limited. Be prepared to be flexible with your course selections and timings. Note that any missed class time might not be excused. 
  • Tuition Payment: Arrange payment for tuition and fees by Tuesday, January 21, to avoid being dropped from your courses. 
  • Add/Drop Deadline: The deadline to add or drop courses is Friday, January 17. Removing courses from your schedule after this date will result in a W on your transcript and you’ll be financially responsible for the course(s). 
  • Holds on Accounts: Ensure there are no holds on your account from other Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, as this could impact your ability to attend this Spring 2025 semester.
