'Resurrection' artwork featured in Anoka-Ramsey Community College Newsletter

The cover art in the Summer 2018 Issue of the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Newsletter features a painting by Nikki Remington, entitled "Resurrection," pictured below. The painting was displayed in the Associate of Fine Arts Exhibition in the Visual Arts Center, along with several self-portraits painted by the student artist. 

Remington studied in the Associate of Fine Arts degree program at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. She described her vision and inspiration in her Artist's Statement.

Artist's Statement:

"My work overall revolves around exploring my own sense of identity, the human body, and our connection to the natural world around us. I enjoy manipulating the human figure, combining it with elegant floral imagery and experimenting with landscape elements. I seek to create a narrative between ourselves and the environment in which we live."
