Spring Fling a Success; 5k Results
April 24, 2017
More than 250 people registered for the 5K family fun run/walk at the Cambridge Campus.
The Student Nursing Health Fair and the Earth Friendly Fair were also a huge success.
Thank you all the organizers and participants.
More About the Spring Fling
The 5K was a part of the Cambridge Campus’ Community Spring Fling event, which also included an Earth-Friendly Fair and a Health Fair.
This was the second annual 5K Family Run/Walk. The first 5K marked the college's 50th anniversary. This second annual 5K celebrated Anoka-Ramsey being named one of the Top 10 Community Colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute.
The theme for the Earth Friendly Fair was Think Spring, Thank Winter: an appreciation of winter. The feature presentation was Cool Creatures, which included a live penguin from Como Park Zoo. There were also children’s activities, a raffle, poetry readings and an exhibit.
Anoka-Ramsey student nurses hosted the health fair with the theme Highway to Health. There were prizes as well as engaging activities on factors that pose a risk to the community’s health.
The day of events was free and open to the community.
